Hi I’m Annette - but depending on the day, I'm also Aunty Annie, Aunty Netty, or "hot aunt" (thank you, Kate-Lyne, I accept that title with grace and good lighting).
I'm a 40-something prairie girl with a love for travel, wine, and the kind of belly laughs that make you snort. My family - blood and chosen - are my whole world. With 13 nieces and nephews, 8 greats, and 8 godchildren. I may not have children of my own but I am deeply invested in the humans who call me Aunty.
I'm quiet in a crowd, always watching, always learning. Curiosity is my default setting. I once asked my mother what i was into as a child - she said the universe. Which tracks, because even now I can start researching one thing and wind up 14 tabs deep in something completely different.
Lately I have been studying happiness, mindset training, fitness, nutrition, relationships, habits and how all of these pieces connect to form what we call human nature. I am designing the best version of myself - stumbling, learning, and pushing forward - especially when I don't know exactly how or where I'm going.
The end goal is a life rooted in happiness, longevity, and integrity - one that my littles will be proud to be connected to - one where "you're just like your Aunty" is a compliment and not an insult.
I've gathered a lot along the way - the kind of wisdom I wish someone had handed me twenty 25 years ago.
That's why I write this blog.
If something here helps you - or someone you love - then every word was worth writing.
